Okay. So. I was sitting in the kitchen just now as dinner was being dished out. My mom got her share, and went to the other room. Then my grandpa came along, and went through a procedure to eat spaghetti that I've never seen before, and quite honestly, I was fascinated and amused by it. I had the urge to tell someone about it, and I guess this is the place to do it.
First, he filled his plate up with noodles. Lots and lots of noodles. Then, he dug around in the fridge and pulled out shredded mozzarella cheese, which he sprinkled all over his noodles. Then, he came extremely close to putting Comet all over his noodles & mozzarella, because there was a brand new container of it sitting right next to the similarly shaped and colored bottle of Parmesan cheese.
Don't ever put the Comet beside the Parmesan. It could take a nasty turn. :)
So anyway. He went crazy on his spaghetti with the Parmesan, and then put his spaghetti sauce on top of all this. He did it like it was an art. He put huge spoonfulls all around in it, and after I thought the plate couldn't possibly hold any more, he added precise amounts to specially-picks locations of his already saucy spaghetti.
By this time, I was already extremely amused. I know there are a million ways to eat spaghetti, but still, it made me laugh a little. And he had no idea I was watching so closely, of course.
Before he sat down to eat, he rummaged through the cracker cabinet and pulled out Hot & Spicy Cheez-Its, which sounds like a really bad partner for spaghetti. But whatever floats his boat. =) Then, all of a sudden, I see him going at his spaghetti like Edward Scissorhands with a fork and spoon. He spent a good while cutting everything up into tiny pieces, and then set down his silverware... and proceeded to eat his spaghetti... with a spoon.
We are not italian. And this was not one of those big spaghetti spoons. He was just eating it with a normal spoon, like it was a can of Spaghetti-o's.
I've known for years that my grandpa eats rather odd things, in very odd ways. But for some reason, this whole spaghetti scenario was hilarious to me. I felt like I should write it down so I'll remember it in detail, hopefully many years from now.

The Bucket List
I think everyone needs a bucket list. I always thought it was an interesting idea, and when I found the term scribbled on my grandpa's little notebook one day, I decided that there's no time better than now to start one. After all, what if I don't make it as far as my grandpa has?
I'm not going to bother trying to put them in any specific order, because my OCD would undoubtedly get the best of me. Some will be long-term, and some not so much. I'll probably add more to the list as time goes on.

The Purpose...
I've never really started a blog before, but I've been getting ideas for things I want to write, and I don't have the patience anymore to actually write in a journal type thing. So here I am. My plans at the moment, which tend to change more often than not, are basically to list the things I want to experience in life, the things I want to accomplish, the things that make me smile, and whatever else crosses my mind.
I don't know if I'll have many readers, or honestly, any at all. This is more for myself, but readers are welcome to enjoy, and comment if they feel like it.
In the event that someone does pass through, I'll list some general facts about myself to start things off.

- I'm 20 years old.
- I live in a hideously small town in Texas.
- I have a boyfriend of 2 years that I couldn't imagine being without.
- I absolutely LOVE animals. If I could cuddle with every non-scavenger type animal on the planet, I would be ecstatic.
- I'm a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.
- My major is Social Work. I love to help people.
- I'm not sure exactly what I want to do after I graduate. Social Work has so many options that I'm not that worried about it right now. I do know that I wouldn't work at CPS.
- I love music. I like a lot of genres, but some annoy me. I won't go there for now.
- I like to read, but I don't usually have time. One of my favorite authors is Nora Roberts.
- I spend too much time on Facebook.
- I read Sunday Secrets every week on www.postsecret.com without fail.
- I love taking pictures. Possibly more than the average person.
- I haven't been to nearly enough concerts.
- I play Everquest. Oh yes. I'm a closet nerd. Some days =)
